Why?

Research has demonstrated that the impact of new scientific discoveries is much greater when people are involved. Nevertheless, far too few Earth and environmental research initiatives employ participatory approaches in their broader impact/knowledge transfer/dissemination strategies. Part of the reason is a lack of familiarity with and understanding of the concepts and methods that underlie participatory research and stakeholder engagement. This wiki offers those with this vital expertise a chance to help move participation and engagement into the mainstream of so that the research community be more effective at addressing the major environmental challenges of our time.

We encourage anyone with expertise in participatory research and stakeholder engagement to contribute to this wiki.
